Alarm.com partners with Vonage on co-marketing arrangement MCLEAN, Va., April 21, 2005 – Alarm.com, a provider of wireless monitoring services, announced a marketing partnership with Vonage, an Edison, N.J.-based voice over Internet protocol telephone company. As a result of the deal, the two companies will offer each other’s services to existing and potential customers. In particular, Alarm.com will leverage its installer base to promote Vonage’s VoIP telephony services and Vonage, in turn, will present a wireless alternative to landline-based alarm monitoring. The marriage of these two companies is not too far fetched, considering both entities have built their brands against the higher costs associated with landline phone services versus cellular and broadband alternatives. Alarm.com targets residential and commercial customers in the United States and Canada. The company’s installer base includes more than 200 dealers. Although the company promotes, either professional or self installation, the GE Concord Ultra Security System is its preferred equipment provider. |
