Alarm.com™ and Vector Security Team Up To Provide Wireless, Web-Enabled Interactive Alarm Management Services to Vector's Authorized Dealer Base Pittsburgh, PA & McLean, VA, June 21, 2006 - Alarm.com, a leading provider of wireless and Web-enabled home and business security technologies, and Vector Security, a leading provider of electronic security services in the Mid-Atlantic, today announced a strategic new Dealer Program alliance. Through this partnership, Vector's Authorized Dealers will offer myvectorsecurity.com, a privately-labeled version of the Alarm.com service, to residential customers in New England, the Mid-Atlantic, and Florida. According to Alarm.com and Vector Security representatives, the Dealer Program alliance will allow small dealers to offer emerging interactive alarm technology to their customers without having to shoulder the central station-related expenses required to launch the service. "A well-respected innovator in the security industry, Vector recognizes the value of Alarm.com's technology for enabling customers to monitor and control their security systems through the Web," says Steve Trundle, CEO of Alarm.com. "We're excited to see that Vector is now sharing their myvectorsecurity.com technology platform with their dealer base. Vector Dealers will now be able to compete more effectively in a changing market where Web integration is becoming a stronger factor in customer choice." Tom Rogers, Senior Vice President at Vector Security, who headed Vector's internal deployment of the Alarm.com™ service to its proprietary customers, cites that this move is aimed directly at preserving and continually improving Vector's reputation for providing the highest grade of central station services. "Our dealers' success rests on their ability to extend the highest quality central station services to their customers; and quality is a constantly moving target in the alarm business. A few years ago, the bull's eye rested squarely on reducing false alarms, and we responded with a combination of new technologies, policy changes and the development of new procedures. Now, the target has moved again, with connectivity and user interaction becoming the new translation of enhanced quality. We chose to respond by making this level of technology available to our dealers, so they too could meet this emerging demand." John Madden, Vector's Vice President of their Authorized Dealer program, says that the program, appropriately titled "Share the Wealth," will help improve the incomes their dealers can realize from the average system sale. "For most dealers in this industry, income from an average system sale has been inadvertently capped by what prospective customers have come to believe is the acceptable price for an alarm. Including our myvectorsecurity.com services in the mix increases the average sale price substantially, to include additional sensing devices used to monitor additional points within the house; and thereby creates new found wealth for our dealers. Better yet, our dealers will retain their ability to be cost-competitive at the base system level, but earn more income through the provision of a new service that is just beginning to see its potential demand. Our dealers can share in the new incomes that enhanced alarm management will bring without needing to make the capital investments in technology."
